The function is

x^3

THis is of the form

x^n

Where n is 3

Now, to find the derivative of x^n, we use the following:

\text{Derivative of x}^n=nx^(n-1)

It means if we take the derivative of an expression of the form x ^ n, then n gets mutliplied at the beginning and we reduce power of x by 1.

So, for x^3, it will be:

take 3 up front and reduce the power of x (which is 3) by 1, to be 2.

So, we have:

Derivative of x^3 is:

(d)/(dx)(x^3)=3x^2
