First, find the distance that Simon can jump in inches. Since 1 feet is equal to 12 inches, then 3 feet are equal to:


12*3=36\text{ inches}

Since Simon jumping distance is 2 inches longer than 3 feet and 3 feet are equal to 36. then his jumping distance is 2 inches longer than 36, which is equal to 38 inches.
