1) Gathering the data

80 L initial Volume

3l/min

2) Calling D the amount of Drained water

D= 80-3m

We can set a table

80 |

m =0 D = 80 - 3(0) = 80 l

m =10 D = 80-3(10) = 50 liters

And so on...

3) D = 80-3m

Plugging into the function

D =80-3(7) ⇒ D = 80 -21 ⇒ D = 59 liters is still in the tank.
