When we reflect a point over the x axis, the sign of the x coordinate remains thesame while the sign of the y coordinate is reversed. Also, when we reflect a point over the y axis, the sign of the y coordinate remains thesame while the sign of the x coordinate is reversed.

for the point, (6, 8),

x coordinate = 6

y coordinate = 8

When it is reflected over the x axis, it becomes (6, - 8)
