we have the function


f(x)=(x+4)/(x+2)

Remember that the denominator cannot be equal to zero

The domain of the given function is all real numbers except for x=-2

that means

there is a vertical asymptote ay

x=-2

Find out the horizontal asymptote

the degree of the numerator is the same that the degree of the denominator

therefore

Find out the quotient between the leading coefficient of the numerator and the leading coefficient of the denominator

1/1=1

the equation of the horizontal asymptote is

y=1
