The formula for the circumference of a circle is as follows:

C=\pi d

where C is the circumference and d is the diameter of the circle.

Substitute the value of the circumference and the approximate value of π into the equation.

62.8=3.14d

To solve for d, divide both sides of the equation by 3.14.

\begin{gathered} (62.8)/(3.14)=(3.14d)/(3.14) \\ 20=d \end{gathered}

Thus, the diameter is 20 inches.
