Now, the first angle is 26 less than three times the measure of the second then,

`x=3y-26`

Then from equation (1)

`\begin{gathered} x+y=180 \\ 3y-26+y=180 \\ 4y=180+26 \\ 4y=206 \\ y=51.5 \end{gathered}`

Substitute y in equation (1)then,

`\begin{gathered} x+51.5=180 \\ x=180-51.5 \\ x=128.5 \end{gathered}`
