Answer:

y- intercept = (0, - 41 )

Explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

calculate m using the slope formula

m =
(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (- 36, - 117) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (- 18, - 79) ← 2 ordered pairs from the table

m =
(-79-(-117))/(-18-(-36)) =
(-79+117)/(-18+36) =
(38)/(18) =
(19)/(9) , then

y =
(19)/(9) x + c

to find c substitute any of the ordered pairs into the equation

using (- 27, - 98 )

- 98 = - 57 + c ⇒ c = - 98 + 57 = - 41

then y- intercept c = - 41 or (0, - 41 ) in coordinate form
