Now, applying this to our problem,


3x-5(12)=15(8)
3x-5=(15(8))/(12)
3x-5=10
3x=10+5
x=(15)/(3)
x=5

Now, given this, we will now be able to solve for the length of FD.


FD=3x-5+12
