PiAnswer:

Y= -x + 60

B

Explanation:

This is the line equation y= ax + b

A is slope

Slope: rise/run

Pick two points. Then from the first point count how many squares you have to move to get to the other point.

So from (40,20) it’s up one square and left one square to get to (30, 30).

Each square is is 10. And so the slope is 10/10, which is 1.

And since it’s a line going down then it’s slope is -1.

So it’s y= -x +b

B is y when x is equal to zero. Y= -0 + b so y=b

Now look at the graph and go to the place in the line where x equals zero.

That would be (0,60)

So the equation is

Y= -x + 60

Line B shows proportional relationship because it’s a straight line through the origin.

The origin is (0,0)

Answer:

3. -10 4. Line B

Explanation:

3. To find the equation you need to look at how much the Y value changed -10 and how much the X value changed +1.

You put them together as a fraction you get
- (10)/(1) . Also written as -10.

4. For a line to be proportional it needs to go through (0,0) and Line B goes through (0,0)
