1) Since we're told to use the empirical rule, we're basically saying that:

The above graph will be used.

2) As we were told the mean is 88 and the standard deviation is 2.6

So we can write out the following about it:

So we can tell that the scores that fall within 2 standard deviations from the men are between 82.8 and 93.2
