Given any three sides of a triangle a, b, c

where c is the bigges

$\begin{gathered} if^{\text{ }}a^2+b^2>c^2 \\ \text{then the triangle is acute} \end{gathered}$
$\begin{gathered} if^{\text{ }}a^2+b^2In this case, c=8, a=4, b=7[tex]\begin{gathered} a^2+b^2=4^2+7^2=65>64=8^2=c^2 \\ \text{then this triangle is acute} \end{gathered}$
