The surface area of a cylinder is calculated as follows:

A=2\cdot\pi\cdot r\cdot h+2\cdot\pi\cdot r^2

where r is the radius and h is the height.

Substituting with r = 5 in, and h = 10 in, we get:

\begin{gathered} A=2\cdot\pi\cdot5\cdot10+2\cdot\pi\cdot5^2 \\ A=100\pi+50\pi \\ A\approx471.2in^2 \end{gathered}

The volume of a cylinder is calculated as follows:

\begin{gathered} V=\pi\cdot r^2\cdot h \\ V=\pi\cdot5^2\cdot10 \\ V=250\pi \\ V\approx785.4in^3 \end{gathered}
