(-3,2)

1) To find that solution, i.e. a point that both lines have in common, let's solve it

y= -x +1

y=2/3x -4

2) Rearranging into standard form:

x+y=1 Multiply by -1

-2/3x +y= -4

-x-y=-1

-2/3x +y= -4

---------------------

-5/3x = -5 Multiply both sides by 3 to eliminate the fraction

-5x = -15

x=3

Plugging into the simpler equation y=-x+1

y= -3 +1

y=-2

3) So the answer is C (-3,2) the common point to both lines. Both lines pass through point( -3,2)
