Hi! I'm going to try to explain this in the best way possible. Basically, when adding in math, we're taking 2 or more numbers, and combining their values to make a different number. For example, if we have 1 and 1, which would be represented as 1 + 1, that would be the value of 1 added to the value of 1, which is 2. You can also do this on your fingers. Since we have 10 fingers, you would count 1 of them and another 1 of them to get 2 fingers! If we try a different problem, such as 2 + 1, that would be the sum of the value of 2 and the value of 1. When counting on your fingers, that would be 2 fingers and another finger. That's 3 fingers. 2 added to 1 is 3! I hope this makes some sort of sense! Tell me if you need more clarification :)
