Given :

the relation between garbage, G, produced by a city with population p

G=f(p)

G is measured in tons per week, and p is measured in thousands of people.

When : p = 30,000 = 30 thousands , G = 11 tons each week

So, as there is a direct variations between G and p

The relation will take the form :

G=k\cdot p

So, the constant k will be :

k=(G)/(p)=(11)/(30)

So, the relation will be :

G=(11)/(30)\cdot p

So, the equation will be : G = 11/30 * p
