3) 37 blocks

4) 87 blocks

Here, figure 2 has 1 block, figure 3 has 3 blocks, figure 4 has 5 blocks and figure 5 has 7 blocks

2) The starting number of blocks is 1 from figure 2

3) We want to know the number of blocks in figure 20

From the question, we can see that we are adding 2 blocks each to the previous block to get the next block

Between figure 5 and figure 20, we can count 15 figures

Each figure has an addition of 2

So the total addition in that case will be 15 * 2 = 30

We add this to 7 on figure 5 to make a total of 30 + 7 = 37

4) Here, we want to count the figure with 87 blocks

The difference between 87 and 7 is 80

So this means that we would have made 40 additions of two each

So adding 40 to 5, we have the figure 45
