If the triangle graphed above is translated 3 units up and 2 units to the right, what are the coordinates of the new vertices? y (-5,3) (-3,-1) (-4,-2) O A. (-1, 2), (-3, 6), and (-2, 1) O B. (-5,2), (-7, 6), and (6, 1) OC. (-1,-4).(-3,0), and (-2,-5) OD. (0, 1), (-2,5), and (-1,0)

The original coordinates if the triangle are:

(-5,3), (-3, -1) and (-4,-2)

A translation of the triangle 3 units up is equal to add 3 to the y-value of each coordinate point. Remember that in a coordinate point the first number is x and the second number is y: (x,y).

Thus add 3 to the y-value of each coordinate:

(-5,3+3), (-3, -1+3) and (-4,-2+3)

The result is:

(-5, 6), (-3, 2), and (-4, 1)

Now, after the translation of 3 units up we need to translate the triangle 2 units to the right. Since we will move in the horizontal direction, we need to change the x-value, in this case, to move 2 units to the right, we need to add 2 to the x value of each coordinate:

(-5+2, 6), (-3+2, 2), and (-4+2, 1)

The result is:

(-3,6), (-1,2), and (-2,1)

These three points are shown in option A.

Answer: Option A
