v+2=(1)/(3)(x-4)^2

compared with the graph of


v=x^2

For doing so, we remember the basic transformations of the functions:

If we have a transformation of the type: f(x-c) the function is f(x) shifted c units:

• to the ,right ,if c is ,negative

,

• to the ,left ,if c is ,positive

In this case we have a factor


(x-4)^2

of the function, thus, this means that the function is shifted 4 units to the right
