A roller coaster car rapidly picks up speed as it rolls down a slope. As it starts down the slope, its speed is 3 m/s. But 2.5 seconds later, at the bottom of the slope, its speed is 25 m/s. What is its average acceleration?

Answer:

the average acceleration is 8.8 m/s^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the average acceleration is shown below;

As we know that

a = (v − u) ÷ t

where

a denotes average acceleration

v denotes the speed at the bottom of the slope

u denotes the speed at down the slop

t denotes time

= (25 - 3) ÷ 2.5

= 8.8 m/s^2

hence, the average acceleration is 8.8 m/s^2
