y= number of muffins

x= years passed

2015-2010 = 5 years (y2)

point 1 (x1,y1) = (0,5800)

Point 2 (x2,y2)= (5,7420)

Apply the slope formula (m):

m=\text{ }(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

Replace:

m=(7420-5800)/(5-0)=(1620)/(5)=324

Slope= 324

Slope intercept form:

y=mx+b

Where:

m: slope

b= y-intercept

y-intercept is the point where the function crosses the y-axis (0,5800)

b=5800

Final expression:

y= 324x+5800
