1.

Apply Pythagorean theorem:

60^2 = 16x^2+ (9x)^2

3600 = 256x^2+81x^2

3600 = 337 x^2

3600/337 = x^2

10.68 =x^2

√10.68 = x

x =3.27

2..

Width: 16 (3.27) = 52.32

heigth: 9 (3.27)= 29.43

Area : Width x heigth: 52.32 x 29.43 = 1,539.77 in2

3.

heigth of image = width/ ratio = 52.37/3 = 17.46 in

4. width of the image = same as tv = 52.32 in

5. Area of movie image = width x height = 52.32 x 17.46 = 913.507

6. (Area of image / area of tv) *100

913.507/1539.77 = 0.59 x 100 =59%

7. height of one black bar:

(Height of tV - height of image)/2

29.43-17.46 = 11.97/2 =5.985 in

8. 5.985 x 52.32 = 313.1352in2
