- The parent graph of this function has to be the cosine function since the function given is characterized majorly by the cosine function.

- Thus, we can plot the parent function (or original function) as follows:

- The function we have been given to plot, simply tells us that the amplitude is no longer 1, but is now 2.

- The negative sign shows us that the function will be flipped about the x-axis.

- The -1 shows us that the function will be shifted downwards by 1 unit.
