I wrote a research essay about clothing during the civil war, and this is my conclusion:

"Obviously, we do not look outside today and see women wearing 15 foot skirts, men with tailcoats, or young children in calico dresses. But like much of fashion today, these were prevalent during the current time period. Trends die, and popular fashions of the decade fade away. In another 20 years, the clothes we wear everyday will be considered old fashioned. "

As new clothing trends come , the next generation’s will say it’s old fashioned, just how in back in the civil war etc etc it’s old fashion to us something like that?
