Since Monique needs 4 plates for each table we can express the ratio of tables to plates like this:

\frac{1\text{ table}}{4\text{ plates}}

In order to get the number of tables that she is able to prepare we just have to multiply this ratio by the number of plates she has, like this:

312*(1)/(4)=(312)/(4)=78

Then, Monique can prepare 78 tables
