Tom earns 1.5 times his normal hourly wage when doing overtime work, therefore:

\begin{gathered} \text{rate}_{\text{overtime}}=14.85\cdot1.5 \\ \text{rate}_{\text{overtime}}=22.275 \end{gathered}

He receives overtime for every hour over 35. Therefore we need to subtract the number of hours worked by 35.

\text{overtime}=43-35=8\text{ hours}

His pay for the week was:

\begin{gathered} \text{pay}=35\cdot14.85+8\cdot22.275 \\ \text{pay}=519.75+178.2 \\ \text{pay}=697.95 \end{gathered}
