Answer:

Five athletes are from the BASKETBALL team labeled 1,2,3,4,5

Four athletes are from the BASEBALL team labeled 1,2,3,4

Three athletes are from the HOCKEY team labeled 1,2,3

If an athlete is randomly chosen, to find the probability that the athlete is BASEBALL and EVEN.

Lt A be that the athlete is BASEBALL

we get, Number of A is n(A). A={1,2,3,4}

n(A)=4

B be the event be that the athlete is Even. B={2,4}

n(B)=2

we get, The probability that the athlete is BASEBALL and EVEN is,

n(A\cap B)=2

The probability that the athlete is BASEBALL and EVEN is 2.
