Given:

-16x^2-12x+10=0

Find:

Value of x with the help of quadratic formula.

Sol:

Quadratic formula:

\begin{gathered} ax^2+bx+c=0 \\ \\ x=(-b\pm√(b^2-4ac))/(2a) \end{gathered}

Use the formula :

\begin{gathered} -16x^2-12x+10=0 \\ \\ x=(-(-12)\pm√((-12)^2-4(-16)(10)))/(2(-16)) \\ \\ x=(12\pm√(144+640))/(-32) \\ \\ x=(12\pm√(784))/(-32) \\ \\ x=(12\pm28)/(-32) \\ \\ x=(12+28)/(-32);x=(12-28)/(-32) \\ \\ x=-1.25;x=0.5 \end{gathered}

So the value of "x" is -1.25 and 0.5
