Add the 2 equations term by term to eliminate the x- term

0 + 7y = 105

7y = 105 ( divide both sides by 7 )

y = 15

Substitute y = 15 into either of the 2 equations and solve for x

Substituting into (2)

6x + 5(15) = 117

6x + 75 = 117 ( subtract 75 from both sides )

6x = 42 ( divide both sides by 6 )

x = 7

solution is (7, 15 ) → a
