Solve for n:

(5)/(8)=(n)/(n-9)

So, to solve this, we need to use inverse operations to solve equations, addition and subtraction are inverse operation and multiplication and division too:

5(n-9)=8\cdot n

Now, using distributive property of multiplication:

\begin{gathered} 5n-45=8n \\ -45=8n-5n \\ -45=3n \\ n=-(45)/(3) \\ n=-15 \end{gathered}
