x^10 -2x^5 +1 = 0

Let t = x^5

t^2 -2t +1 =0

Now we can factor

(t-1)(t-1) =0

t=1

But remember we are not done since the original variable was x

x^5 =1

Taking the fifth root of each side

x^5 ^(1/5) = 1^ (1/5)

x = 1
