The temperature on the surface detected by the scientist is 40 degrees.

The magnitude of the temperature change as height increases is - 3 degrees.

Assuming,

\begin{gathered} H\text{ = Height above the surface.} \\ T\text{ = Temperature at certain height.} \end{gathered}

Further,

\begin{gathered} AtH=0,T=40^0C \\ AtH=1,T=37^0C\text{ and so on.} \end{gathered}

Therefore the required equation relating H with T is calculated as,

T\text{ = 40 - 3H}

For the graphical representation,

Consider H on the x axis and T on Y axis.
