Amelia is painting a triangular picture frame. the perimeter is 30 in. if one side is 13 in Long another side is 5 in long, what is the length of the other side of the picture frame?

1) Gathering the data

2p = 30 inches

1 side: 13

2nd side: 5

2) Since the Perimeter is the sum of all sides or legs of a polygon then

2P = 13 +5 +x Plugging into 2p the value given: 30

30 =13 +5+ x

30=18+x

30-18=x

12=x

Then the other side is 12 inches.
