To graph a line on the plane, one needs two points on it and then crosses them using a straight line.

Finding two points on each line,

\begin{gathered} x-y=0 \\ x=0\Rightarrow y=0 \\ \Rightarrow(0,0) \\ x=1\Rightarrow y=1 \\ \Rightarrow(1,1) \end{gathered}

And,

\begin{gathered} x+y=-4 \\ x=0\Rightarrow y=-4 \\ \Rightarrow(0,-4) \\ x=1\Rightarrow y=-5 \\ \Rightarrow(1,-5) \end{gathered}

Graphing both lines on the plane,

The solution is the intersection point of both lines; thus, the answer is (-2,-2)

X - y = 0X + y = - 4-example-1
