\begin{gathered} Find\text{ the value of x to know if the sides are proportional} \\ (12)/(8)=(6+x)/(x) \\ 12x=48+8x \\ 4x=48 \\ x=(48)/(4)=12 \end{gathered}

Hence;


\begin{gathered} (12+6)/(12)=(8+4)/(8) \\ (18)/(12)=(12)/(8) \\ (3)/(2)=(3)/(2) \end{gathered}
