Radio waves are sometimes used by astronomers to measure distance. I ready with pulse is transmitted from earth to an object in space. The post bounces of the object and returns to earth in five seconds. assume that the radio wave travels at speed of light which is 300,000 km/s what is the calculated distance of the object from earth

We have to use the following expression about constant speed.

d=vt

Where v is the speed of the light and t is the time. Let's replace the given values.

\begin{gathered} d=300,000\operatorname{km}/s\cdot5\sec \\ d=1,500,000\operatorname{km} \end{gathered}

Therefore, the distance of the object from the Earth is 1,500,000 kilometers.
