The given shows us that we will be using CAH from SOH CAH TOA where

cos theta = adjacent / hypotenuse

in this case it will be

. cos 47 = h / 12

we want h to be the subject so we will multiply both sides by 12

. h = cos 47 * 12

. h = 8.184

now all you have to do is round to 1d.p

. h = 8.2cm
