y - 3 = -2(x+4)

we will first rearrange the equation to be in the form; y=mx+ b

where m is the slope and b is the intercept

y -3 = -2x - 8

add 3 to both-side of the equation

y = -2x - 8 +3

y = -2x -5

comparing the above with;

y=mx + b

slope m = -2 and Intercept b = -5

Hence; the line has a slope of -2 and a y- intercept of -5
