Experimental ProbabilityDirections:1. CONDUCT an "experiment" related to probability2. Choose from one of the following :a) Flipping a coin at least 50 times and recording #of times it lands on heads OR trails (pick 1 side)b) Rolling a dice at least 50 times and getting a specific number each time ( i.e. the #4 - You Choose the # )c) Spinning a Game board spinner at least 50 times and landing on a specific color or number (depending on the Game spinner you have available) d) Drawing a number from a hat at least 50 times (write the numbers 1- 10 on individual pieces of paper, equal size, that You fold and put into the hat) - put the number back in each time You draw one.3. RECORD You results (each time You flip the coin or roll the dice, etc., record your results on paper)4. WRITE your results with the following format:1. MY EXPERIMENT: In 1 sentence, describe You experiment. Example: In this experiment, I flipped a coin 50 times and recorded the number of times it landed on heads.2. PREDICTED FREQUENCY: In 1 sentence, describe the predicted frequency for your experiment (the results You expect to get) and why You think that. Example: The predicted frequency for Flipping a coin 50 times and getting heads is 25 because the theoretical probability of getting heads is ½ = 0.5 or 50% and ½ of 50 is 25.3. MY RESULTS: After Flipping a coin 50 times, I recorded 27 Events of the coin landing on heads was 27/50 = 0.54 or 54%.4. SUMMARY RESULTS : The predicted frequency of 50% was very close to my experimental probability of 54%.

2(b)The chosen experiment is Rolling a dice at least 50 times and getting a specific number each time (We pick the number 6).

3. The results obtained were as follows:

\begin{gathered} Number|Outcomes \\ 1|11 \\ 2|8 \\ 3|10 \\ 4|9 \\ 5|10 \\ 6|12 \\ --- \\ \text{Total}|60 \end{gathered}

1. MY EXPERIMENT: In this experiment, I rolled a dice 60 times and recorded the number of times it landed with the number 6 face-up.

2. PREDICTED FREQUENCY:

The predicted frequency for rolling a dice 60 times and getting the number 6 is 10 because the theoretical probability of getting a 6 is 1/6 = 0.167 or 16.7% and 1/6 of 60 is 10.

3. MY RESULTS: After rolling a dice 60 times, I recorded 12 Events of the dice showing a 6. The probability was 12/60 = 0.20 or 20%.

4. SUMMARY RESULTS: The predicted frequency of 16.7% was very close to my experimental probability of 20%.
