if the scale factor of 2 similar cylinder is 4:7 what is the volume ratio? be sure to use the colon format as given above

Remember that

If two figures are similar, then the ratio of their volumes is equal to the scale factor elevated to the cubic

so

we have

the scale factor is 4/7

so

the volume ratio is equal to


((4)/(7))^3=(4^3)/(7^3)=(64)/(343)

therefore

The answer is 64: 343
