Equation 1: -5x + 4y = 3

Equation 2: x = 2y - 15

Since Equation 2 is already solved for x, we will use this value of x in the firs equation:

-5x + 4y = 3

-5(2y - 15) + 4y = 3

-10y + 75 + 4y = 3

-6y = 3 - 75 = -72

y = -72/-6 = 12

y = 12

Using this value of y in equation 2:

x = 2y -15

x = 2(12) - 15

x = 24 -15

x = 9

Answer:

x = 9

y = 12
