Answer:

N=12

Explanation:

Set up an equation involving N

(1/3)N+8=18-(1/2)N

We want to clear the denominator to start with by multiplying everything on both side by 6

2N+48=108-3N

Move all the N's to one side and the number to the opposite

5N=60

Divide by 5

N=12

Check:

(1/3)12+8=18-(1/2)12

4+8=18-6

12=12

Answer:

Explanation:

8 + N/3 = 18 - N/2

N/3 + N/2 = 18 - 8

2N/6 + 3N/6 = 10

5N/6 = 10

N = 10(6/5)

N = 12
