Given:

Total number of cookies is, N = 36.

Number of friends is, n(f) = 8.

The objective is to find the number of cookies (c) will each of them get while sharing.

Consider the required number of cookies to each person as (c).

The value of c can be calculated as,

\begin{gathered} c=\frac{\text{Number of cookies (N)}}{Number\text{ of friends n(f)}} \\ =(36)/(8) \\ =4.5 \end{gathered}

Hence, each of them will get 4 and a half cookies.
