to find the surface of a shape we find the area of each face and sum

Finding the areas

1.

Area

\begin{gathered} A=b* h \\ A=12*5 \\ A=60 \end{gathered}

Area is 60 square ft

2.

Area

\begin{gathered} A=b* h \\ A=12*4 \\ A=48 \end{gathered}

Area is 48 square ft

3.

Area

\begin{gathered} A=b* h \\ A=12*3 \\ A=36 \end{gathered}

Area is 36 square ft

4. Triangles are the same, then I will solve one but I will count both on the surface

Area

\begin{gathered} A=(b* h)/(2) \\ \\ A=(3*4)/(2) \\ \\ A=(12)/(2)=6 \end{gathered}

Area is 6 square ft

Surface

we add the area of each face

\begin{gathered} S=60+48+36+6+6 \\ S=156 \end{gathered}

total Surface is 156square ft
