By definiton, Dilation is a transformation in which the Pre-Image (the original figure) and the Image (the figure obtained after a transformation) have the same shape, but their sizes are different.

In this case, knowing that the green shape is a dilation of the black shape, you can identify that:

- The black shape is the Pre-Image.

- The green shape is the Image.

Now, observe the picture. You can notice that the shortest side of the black shape has a lenght of 7 units and the corresponding side of the green shape has a length of 14 units.

Knowing the above, you can find the scale factor as following:
