$\begin{gathered} -4x+6<10 \\ \end{gathered}$

subtract 6 from both sides:

$\begin{gathered} -4x+6-6<10-6 \\ -4x<4 \end{gathered}$

divide both sides by -4:

$\begin{gathered} (-4x)/(-4)<(4)/(-4) \\ x>-1 \end{gathered}$
