The biomes classified as "high latitude" are the ones located farthest from Equator (60° to 90°) because of that they receive the least amount of sunlight and have lower temperature, taiga and tundra are examples of these biomes. In addition to these characteristics the high latitude biomes have low biodiversity and may have snow for long periods of time. This classification is by the Earth's surface curve and angles, making the position of the Earth regarding the Sun the most meaning factor for the climate, wildlife, and geography of the biome.
