Slope intercept equation:

y=mx+b

Where:

m= slope

b= y-intercept

Apply the slope formula:

m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

Where:

(x1,1) = (9,2)

(x2,y2)= (-12.-12)

Replacing:

m=\text{ }(-12-2)/(-12-9)=(-14)/(-21)=(2)/(3)

So far we have:

y=2/3x+b

Replace (x,y) by a coordinate point , for example (9,2) and solve for b:

2= 2/3(9)+b

2= 6 +b

2-6= b

-4= b

Final equation:

y= 2/3x-4
