The solution to the equation f(x) = g(x) is any x-value that makes the equation true. In terms of using graphs, the solutions are the x-coordinates of any point of intersection.

So if the graphs intersect at (1,5), then the solution is x=1.

This checks, because f(1) = 5 and g(1) = 5, so f(1) = g(1).
