A nucleotide if formed by three parts: a phosphate group, a pentose (deoxirribose) and the nitrogenous bases (A, T, G and C).

Nucleotides are linked by phosphodiester bond, while nitrogenous bases are linked by their complementary base (Adenine with Thymine and Guanine with Cytosine) by hydrogen bonds.
